A Prayer for Beauty
Mark Turner wrote the poem "Beautify, Oh" as a prayer from his own devotional life. The film is an expansion on the poem visualized by Turner's nature photography over a period of about seven years. The text of each poetic line and the photographs are woven together in dramatic movement and morphing across the screen rendering surprises on several levels. The sound track which he composed draws from masters such as Maurice Ravel, Gustav Holst, Bela Bartok and Samuel Barber, combining instruments, choral singing and verse choir with sounds from nature. The DVD offers bonus materials of the original photographs, the text of the poem and frames with helps for discussion. This is an excellent addition to your personal, or group collection at $15.
To the Diggers

Mark considers the art form complete when the audience finally talks about it, for in those conversations it mixes infinitely into real lives. To help in this bonus materials of the poem text, stills of the artwork and conversation points for each stanza are arranged in menus linked to the appropriate sequences in the film.
